KARACHI: Conference Speech on challenges to heritage sites of Sindh and centenary celebrations of excavations of Mohenjo-Daro, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah emphasized that need for effects study of changing of the climate in to protect national heritage objects.
He said that the heirs of The Indus Valley Civilization was now facing severe forms and consequences of climate change, and there was a serious need understand and study the effects so that researchers and scientists can provide guidance for policy development and decision issue.
Conference titled “New Challenges to the Heritage, Sculpture and Painting of Sindh”. on centenary celebration of The excavations of Mohenjo-Daro were convened by the cultural department here at the Arts Council. on Sunday.

“We are the heirs of The Indus Valley Civilization and Its Founders of in the world leading and centuries of civilization. Most of in past civilizations, including ours in the Indus Valley, were doomed by certain, sudden and harsh patterns of climate change that researchers and scientists need to understand and study for guidelines,” he said.
He said that the recent disaster of flood strongly influenced the province, and his government tried his level best to rise to crises.
“It fact that our monuments and ancient property was damaged great to deal with of loss, and I have personally been to several such places and observed the consequences on world heritage site of Mohenjo-Daro,” he said.
“When the United Nations secretary-general recently visited Pakistan and went to Mohenjo-Daro to assess the damage to the heritage site, I led team and informed him in details and asked him for preservation and protection of at least heritage sites”, CM said, adding: “He assured me of his full support while.”
He said that the recent climate change conference in Sharm El Sheikh (COP 27) also reached a certain level of success and Pakistan actively participated in It.
“Our business with a call for climate justice was passionately defended by the Chairman of the PPP and foreign minister in Egypt like result, world has now agreed to establish a Loss and Damage Fund, whereby countries like us would financially encourage rather than compensate—because they take on the burden of carbon emissions of in developed world which are key the reasons for changed and broken patterns of climate change,” said Mr. Murad.

CM said that on his advice, The Endowment Fund Trust (ETF) started work on Ranikot to restore its walls damaged by rains and flood.
“Frenchman team asked Sehwan city and fort this month and international conference is to be held on Sehwan (Alexander) in February 2023, which is likely to be attended by 10 prominent scientists,” he said.

He said in January 2023, Sindh government was going to Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum with topical research of Sind.
