Tones and I surprised children and parents when she performed at a Mornington Peninsula primary school’s Christmas concert on Monday.
The musician, whose real name is Toni Watson, returned to her old stomping ground in Mouth Martha, where she took to the stage to sing her smash hit Dance Monkey.
Several students at Osborne Primary School also joined her on stage.

The guests were blown away by the the ARIA Award winner’s surprise appearance.
‘Christmas concert, made bearable by an amazing guest performance by a slightly recognisable Osborne alum,’ one mother wrote on social media.
‘Tones and I at the kids Christmas concert, how cool,’ another audience member said.

‘So lucky to have a famous student come play for them,’ a grandmother said.
Toni Watson grew up in Mount Martha before moving to Byron Bay to kickstart her music career.
It was there she began performing as a street busker while sleeping in her van.
In December 2020, after the success of her single Dance Monkey, she bought two beachside pads in Byron for $3.3million.

The homes are located 800m from Belongil Beach.
One of them is a newly renovated former holiday home that boasts seven bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus an entertainment area, dining area and lounge.
Last month, Tones and I called out four people who had trashed her home in Byron Bay, which is in the grips of a homelessness crisis.
The singer, who owns five homes and is worth $35million, hadn’t been living at the property for a while and didn’t realise it had been broken into until she asked one of her friends to stop by because she was planning to have guests over.
Two of her five homes are located in the coastal NSW town, but it is unclear which of the properties was broken into.

‘Everything’s been trashed. There’s squatters, there’s needles, drug paraphernalia, heaps of ciggie butts,’ she said in a video.
‘They’ve taken a lot of stuff.’
She went on to describe the homeless people as ‘crazy’, ‘whacked out’ and ‘erratic’.
‘We’ve called the police, chucked all their s**t on the lawn with a sign that says, “The police are coming. F**k off.”‘
