Law firm plots $50 mln lawsuit against Girardi ‘criminal enterprise’

(Reuters) – Chicago plaintiffs organization Edelson Laptop on Tuesday explained it was planning to file a new $50 million lawsuit from fact Television star Erika Jayne Girardi, contacting her the “frontwoman” for a legal conspiracy that was operate out of her partner Tom Girardi’s regulation agency.

Edelson disclosed its draft complaint versus Erika Girardi and many others as component of a proposal it filed in Chicago federal courtroom: The company and its insurance company would pay back the family members of the victims of the 2018 Lion Air crash who never obtained settlement money from Girardi Keese, Tom Girardi’s now-defunct regulation business.

Edelson in December 2020 accused the Girardis of using $2 million in settlement money intended for the households of four victims of the 2018 Lion Air crash to bankroll a “glitz-and-glam” Hollywood lifestyle. The proposal Edelson offered to U.S. District Judge Thomas Durkin contains an arrangement with victims’ families to pay them at the very least $2 million.

In exchange, the families would assign their statements to Edelson to “pursue these responsible.” Edelson would file its lawsuit in the District Court of Northern California.

The draft grievance alleges that Girardi Keese “was little far more than a prison organization, disguised as a regulation organization.” With more than $100 million stolen from clientele, co-counsel, vendors and other individuals, the agency was “the most significant felony racketeering company in the heritage of plaintiffs’ legislation,” it says.

The draft criticism names Erika Girardi and her company EJ World-wide LLC as defendants, as well as David Lira and Keith Griffin, two former Girardi Keese attorneys, and some others.

Attorneys for Girardi, Lira and Griffin did not promptly respond to requests for remark. Girardi’s attorney has stated the fact star is “totally harmless” of related statements. Lira and Griffin have mentioned in court docket filings Girardi Keese’s accounts were being controlled by Girardi.

Lira and Griffin manufactured “specials with co-counsel with complete knowledge that they have been under no circumstances heading to be paid,” Edelson alleged in its draft grievance. Girardi, who stars in the clearly show “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” was the “frontwoman” who bought the operation to the rest of the environment, Edelson alleged.
